China Still Life
While visiting Ballenberg the living museum in central Switzerland I was stuck by the austerity of this simple set up of traditional tableware. The whole scene feels stark, with each member of the matching set feeling isolated and separated yet still placed in a group together.
For the painting I worked up the details to capture life like representation on the china, but left other areas like the table and cloth a little undone. I used digital bristle brushes for the most part with some finer soft brushes on the details.
Medium: Digital hand painting emulating oil paint. Click image for detail
